We list 4 masters Scholarships for Nigerian Students in Turkey, with the deadline, study level and eligibility of each one taken from the award's own terms. 3 of them are fully funded. 4 state eligibility that includes Nigerian applicants.

This page collects 4 masters scholarships in Turkey open to Nigerian students. Every award here is at masters level and every one is at a Turkish university or a Turkish government scheme. Three of the four are labelled fully funded. The fourth does not state its funding either way, so this page makes no claim about what it covers.
The list is short because it is narrow. It is not a directory of every Turkish university that admits international students. It is the set of awards we have catalogued that a Nigerian graduate can apply for at masters level, with the provider, the level and the stated deadline recorded for each.
All 4 awards on this page are open to Nigerian applicants. None of them names Nigeria or a region as a condition of eligibility, and none of them carries a nationality restriction. That is the plain reading of the eligibility text on each award.
What you need before you start is a first degree. The qualifications that lead into this level are B.Sc, B.A, B.Eng, LLB, MBBS and HND. These are taught and research masters, and the awards usually state a minimum class of degree. Where an award asks for an "upper second", that corresponds to Second Class Upper (2:1) on a Nigerian transcript. Whether an HND is accepted is decided by each university, not by this page, so check the individual award before you spend money on a transcript.
Turkey is a real destination for Nigerian students, not a marginal one. The UNESCO Institute for Statistics recorded 3,669 Nigerian students in Turkey in 2023, the fifth-largest group of Nigerian students in any host country that year.
Of the 4 awards, 3 state in their own text that they cover tuition, living costs, travel, accommodation and health insurance. One states that it covers research or training costs. One does not label its funding, so nothing is claimed here about what it provides.
Read those figures as what the awards say in writing, not as a guarantee. A full package that names tuition, stipend, flights, housing and insurance is a strong offer on paper. What actually lands in your account, and when, depends on the university's own disbursement rules. Ask about the payment schedule before you accept anything, particularly the living allowance, because you will be paying rent in Turkey in lira while your family may still be covering costs in naira at home.
The providers represented are Koc University, Bilkent University, Eastern Mediterranean University and a Turkish government scheme listed under various universities.
Note the level spread. Three of the four awards also fund PhD study, and one also funds undergraduate study. If you are weighing a masters now against a PhD later, the same provider may appear on both lists.
The requirements below are what the awards state. They are not universal, and one award may ask for something another does not.
Two things here cost Nigerian applicants real money and real weeks. The first is the English test. Three awards ask for IELTS or TOEFL, and a test slot plus the score report is an out-of-pocket expense before you know whether you have won anything. Some Turkish universities waive the English test where your previous degree was taught in English, but that is a decision each university makes, so ask the admissions office directly rather than assuming.
The second is the admission offer. One award requires you to hold an offer of admission before you apply for the funding. That reverses the order most people work in. It means you apply to the university first, wait, receive the offer, and only then submit the scholarship application — which can push your timeline out by months. Start the university application earlier than you think you need to.
Two awards ask for a research proposal. If you are applying for a taught masters rather than a thesis programme, check whether the proposal requirement applies to your track before you write one.
None of the 4 awards on this page carries a single fixed closing date recorded as a date. All 4 are undated in our records, which means the deadline sits in the award's own details rather than in a field we can sort. Two of them do show dates in their listing text, and those dates fall across the year rather than in one busy month.
The practical consequence is that you cannot plan this list by calendar. You have to open each award and read its deadline section. Do that before anything else, because a deadline that has already passed makes the rest of the preparation pointless.
Where dates do appear, they cluster in the first half of the year. The Turkey Government Scholarship shows a window running from January 10 to February 20, 2026. Eastern Mediterranean University shows January 09, 2026 and September 01, 2026. Bilkent University shows March 18, June 6 and November 4. Koc University directs you to its details for the deadline.
Treat those as dates to verify, not dates to rely on. Turkish university deadlines shift, and a date printed on a listing page is not the same as a date confirmed on the university's own portal.
The durations stated across these awards vary, which matters if you are planning around a job or family commitments at home.
If a funding package covers tuition and living costs, the length of the programme decides how long that support lasts. A 2-year thesis masters and a 3-year masters are not the same commitment, and a funding offer that runs for the shorter period may leave you covering the final year yourself. Confirm the funded duration in writing, separately from the programme duration.
Work in this order. Open each of the 4 awards and read the deadline and the eligibility text yourself, in full. Confirm whether the award requires an admission offer first, because that single line changes your whole sequence. Check whether your degree class meets the stated minimum, and whether the university accepts your HND if that is what you hold. Then budget for the documents: transcripts, courier fees and an English test if the award asks for one.
The list is small, so the work per award is heavier than it would be on a long list. Four awards, three of them fully funded, all open to Nigerian applicants, none restricted by nationality. That is a short list worth reading properly rather than skimming.
