The Gates Scholarship 2026-2027 is a fully funded program for undergraduate students in the US. It pays for tuition, accommodation, meals, books, and transportation expenses.

Known as TGS, the Gates Scholarship is an extremely selective award offered to outstanding minority high school seniors from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Each year, 300 students are chosen to help them unlock their potential and succeed in higher education.

The scholarship ensures the complete cost of attendance* is covered, after accounting for any other financial aid or family contribution as determined by FAFSA or the specific policies of a student’s chosen institution.

Among the thousands of private scholarships offered across the United States, the Gates Scholarship stands out as one of the most prestigious. Applicants with excellent academic performance, leadership experience, and community service involvement are strongly favored.

This program was launched by Bill and Melinda Gates with the goal of creating equal opportunities in education. Every year, more than 300 deserving students from underprivileged families are given the chance to pursue higher studies and transform their futures.

The Gates Scholarship is considered one of the top fully funded undergraduate awards in the US, renewable for up to five years. It provides comprehensive financial aid covering books, tuition, room and board, transportation, and additional living costs.
