This page collects 15 fully funded Masters scholarships in Business & Management that are open to Nigerian students. Every award here is labelled fully funded, and every one is at Masters level. That combination is deliberate: it means you are not filtering through partial tuition waivers or undergraduate awards to find the ones that actually pay for a postgraduate business degree abroad.
The list spans eight countries. China carries the largest share with 4 awards, followed by the United Kingdom with 3, then Australia and Switzerland with 2 each. Japan, the Netherlands, Norway and the United States each hold 1. Several of the awards are not restricted to business alone, so the same scholarship may also appear under Economics & Finance, Engineering or Law on this site.
Fully funded does not mean the same thing at every university, so it is worth reading what each award says in its own text. Of the 15 on this page:
Those are the benefits the awards state in writing. Where an award does not name a cost, treat it as unconfirmed rather than covered. One example on the list, the BI Presidential Scholarship at BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo, states full tuition plus a stipend for international students.
For 10 of the 15 awards, a Nigerian applicant can apply. Of those 10, 2 name Nigeria or the region directly in their eligibility text, and 8 place no nationality restriction at all. For the remaining 5, the award page does not state eligibility, so you would need to confirm with the university before spending money on a transcript or courier.
The qualification route is straightforward. You hold a first degree or HND — B.Sc, B.A, B.Eng, LLB, MBBS or HND — and you are applying at Masters level, taught or research. Where an award states a minimum degree class, "upper second" corresponds to Second Class Upper (2:1) on a Nigerian transcript. Whether an HND is accepted is decided by each university, not by this page.
The requirements below are counted from what the awards themselves state. They are not a checklist that applies to every scholarship, and an award that does not mention a requirement may still ask for it later in the process.
Letters of recommendation are the single most common requirement, and they are also the one Nigerian applicants most often leave late. Approach your referees early, give them your CV and your statement of purpose, and be clear about the deadline you are working to. Where an English test is named, budget for the test fee and for a sitting date that leaves room for a re-sit if you need one.
Of the 15 awards, 8 carry a stated date and 8 are still open at the time of writing. Seven are undated on this page, and 8 recur annually, which means a missed cycle is usually not permanent. The busiest months are October and May with 2 deadlines each, and April with 1.
The awards closing soonest are worth naming in order:
Two more sit just outside that group: the Cambridge University MBA Scholarship 2026-2027 closes 15 May, and the Stanford award above closes 8 October. If you are reading this close to one of those dates, work backwards from it rather than forwards from today.
The spread is wide. China holds 4, the United Kingdom 3, Australia and Switzerland 2 each, and Japan, the Netherlands, Norway and the United States 1 each. Providers named on this page include Stanford University, the University of Cambridge, BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo, the University of Tasmania, participating Australian institutions, and a group of Shanghai universities.
Country choice matters for more than the flag on the certificate. Tuition, living costs, visa processing times and the cost of a return flight from Lagos or Abuja all differ, and a full tuition award in a city with high rent is not the same offer as a full tuition award plus accommodation. Read the benefit list for each award before you rank them.
Start with the two or three awards whose deadlines fall nearest and whose eligibility you can confirm. For each one, check three things in this order: whether Nigerians may apply, what the award states it pays for, and what documents it asks you to submit. If eligibility is not stated on the award, email the university's admissions or scholarships office before you pay for anything.
Then get your paperwork moving. Transcripts from Nigerian universities take time, and courier costs are real, so request them once you have a shortlist rather than a long one. Ask your referees in the same week. If an English test is required, book the date now. If an award requires an admission offer first, the scholarship clock starts only after the university clock has run.
Finally, note which awards recur. Eight of the 15 run again, so an award you miss this cycle can be a target for the next one — provided you use the interval to strengthen the application rather than simply resubmit it.
